We pair digitized pathology slides with clinical notes and our machine learning algorithms to allow pathologists to reach diagnoses faster and more accurately.  Pathologists can use our fully-integrated slide viewer application to access our algorithms and to view digitized slides.  

We’re seeking a Back End Engineer (senior level) to join our Software Team.  In this role you’ll collaborate with our world-leading experts in machine learning and pathology to develop and integrate a new series of disease-specific machine learning algorithms into our PAIGE View slide viewer.  This is an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a high-performing team and to pursue a life-changing mission.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the backend cloud infrastructure.
  • Description and testing of possible user interactions.
  • Collaborate with our world-class AI Scientists and Engineers to integrate additional algorithms into the application. 
  • Implementation of new application features, applying software development best practices, eg. use of unit testing, code modularity.
  • Optimization of the web application. 
  • Operate within a highly regulated environment (eg. to align with FDA requirements).   

About our technology stack:

  • C#, ASP.NET (Nancy), Azure, Redis, OpenCV, openslide, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, openseadragon, jQuery, Bootstrap

About you:

  • You hold a minimum of a Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience. 
  • You have a minimum of two years’ experience as an Engineer in commercial settings, developing scalable and responsive web-applications.  
  • You have strong experience with object-oriented languages like C++, C#, and Python.
  • You have experience working with key-value-databases (Redis), ASP.NET, version control (git) and cloud-based platforms.
  • You’re very experienced in software testing (eg. unit testing, regression testing). 
  • You are familiar with Visual Studio.
  • You are a creative engineer who enjoys implementing complex systems to autonomously understand, interact with and adapt to their end users.
  • You enjoy working on cross-disciplinary and agile teams.
  • You are authorized to work in the US and will not require sponsorship in the future.
